In our experience, a great show has to have people who are friendly and helpful, provide a good selection of static aircraft on display both military and civilian, a good selection of performers and be priced right. The flight path is also a contributing factor, as is the aircraft's altitude for viewing by the attendees. While the weather is beyond anyone's control, it can certainly make or break an air show. The air show organizers need to pay a bit more attention how the shows are actually organized, due to the economics situation at the present, people think very hard about attending these show. The cost of travel is rising, gasoline as all know is expensive, thus traveling to air shows isn't cheap, especially if the air show event is out of town, state or province. An air show is not just about the performers either, be they current military, civilian or historical warbirds from WWI, WWII, Korea or Vietnam era. A good air show has to be a good value for the money. Attendees, consider all the fees: admission, parking, programs, to food and drinks, and even near by hotel and motel costs.
